Strike: Unpaid salaries, uncertified health insurance cards, etc.
Around 80 workers of Novi Sad based “DES” have been on strike at company grounds since this morning, due to unpaid salaries, uncertified health insurance cards, travel expenses and failed bridging of service periods, Trade Union “Sloga”, which is behind organization of the strike, has announced today.
“DES” has around 170 employees, out of which 60 percent are people with disabilities.
According to a member of that trade union Zorica Stepanov, it would be more people on strike if portion of seamstresses’ sector had not have been sent on annual departmental leave on Friday.
Workers of “DES” are pointing out that their position has not improved, despite firm promises by the Minister of Labour Zoran Djordjevic and Mayor of Novi Sad Milos Vucevic that state will take care of enterprises that employ disabled workers.
