    The IMF interested in pay grades

    The Mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) that resides in Serbia is interested in regulating the salary system, which should be operational from January 2020.

    This was announced by the Serbian government, following the meeting of the IMF Mission with the Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Branko Ruzic, during which they discussed about reform of the salary system, which goal is transparent and fair distribution of budget funds and better material position of employees.

    Ruzic has said that dialogue with relevant ministries, trade unions and social partners on reform of the salary system will continue this year, and he has also pointed out that goal is not to jeopardize Serbian budget, and to improve material position of employees in public administration.

    As stated, the IMF Mission led by James Roaf was interested in activities that will be conducted until commencement of implementation of laws that regulate the salary system as of January 2020.

    Representatives of the Ministry reminded of the need for additional analysis of financial effects of the new system for individual sectors (education, health and other), so that the new salary system would come to life within stipulated deadline.
