The largest budget in the HISTORY of Belgrade

Deputy Mayor of Belgrade, Goran Vesic, has stated that through budget revision and with an increase of RSD 5.4 billion, this year’s city budget will amount to almost RSD 135 billion, which is, he points out, the largest budget in the history of capital. Vesic has stated in the city parliament that this is almost two times higher budget than it was in 2013, when it was EUR 630 million. „This revision shows recovery of the City of Belgrade and how well city is developing,“ Vesic has underscored, adding that this is backed up by the data that this year 30 percent more requests for issuance of building permits have been submitted this year. Budget increase happened, Vesic explains, as citizens’ income tax increased by 3.4 percent, wage tax by four percent, collection of contributions for construction land increased by 12.1 percent while collection of property tax increased by nine percent. The sector of education received the largest amount via budget revision, almost two billion dinars, Vesic states.
