The Minister explained why the arrival of IVANKA TRAMP would be good for Serbia

The Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Zorana Mihajlovic, stated that the agreement signed by the Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in Washington is of great importance for the country’s economy and for further improvement of bilateral relations with the USA.

„The American Development Agency was in Serbia in February, and at the time we talked about large infrastructure projects that are part of this economic agreement, i.e. the Nis-Merdare-Pristina highway and the railway to Pristina respectively. The value of these investments is 3.7 billion euros. „If we also add the high-speed railway Belgrade-Nis, investments will exceed 5.5 billion euros,“ she stated with Happy TV station.

She reminded that the American investments in Serbia so far amount to one billion dollars, on the basis of which more than 20,000 people have been employed.

Mihajlovic, who is also the president of the Coordination Body for Gender Equality, evaluated that it is not easy for women in Serbia, whether they are engaged in political, economic or social life, thus it is important to create opportunities for them to be more engaged in positions where decisions are being made.

She also pointed out that it is necessary to help women in entrepreneurship and the arrival of Ivanka Trump in Serbia would be significant.

„One of the pillars of the American Development Agency is the very support to female entrepreneurship. „Every kind of help and support would mean a lot to us, to help women start their business, but also to maintain it after a few years, when business challenges arise,“ Mihajlovic said.
