The Minister „IS UNDER THE IMPRESSION“ that Fiat will soon negotiate with the strikers

Negotiations on strikers’ demands in the Fiat Plastic plant could soon begin, with the mediation of the Agency for Peaceful Settlement of Labour Disputes.

This was said to representatives of the Strike Committee, who were contacted today by the Minister of Labour, Darija Kisic Tepavcevic, and conveyed her „impression“ after the conversation with managers of Fiat in Kragujevac that she had during the afternoon.

„Tepavcevic told us that her impression is that Fiat will start negotiations as soon as possible, with the mediation of the Agency for the Peaceful Settlement of Labour Disputes,“ the president of the Strike Committee, Zoran Miljkovic stated with Beta agency.

The union of the plant and the Strike Committee previously assessed that there was no progress in resolving demands and they had not heard „anything new“ from the employer.

Workers are asking for the recourse to return to the level from 2020, and the compensation for paid leave should be 65 instead of the current 60 percent.

They are also asking the employer to return machines for mounting the 500L bumpers in the plant, which were moved to the sister company Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Serbia (FCA) in the middle of strike.

The request is also for workers, among whom are the members of the Strike Committee, to return to work from the forced vacation to which they were sent, because, as they say, an „artificial“ technological redundancy has been made.
