The Ministry of Education: The subject on Serbia’s DEFENCE is NOT INTRODUCED

The new subject „Fundamentals of the Defence System of the Republic of Serbia“ is not being introduced in high schools, as students of the final grades of high school since the 2018/2019 school year have the opportunity to learn about the role and tasks of the Serbian Army and related topics through a total of four classes held by class teacher during the school year, the Ministry of Education announced.

They add that this is a program that was introduced in the second semester of the 2018/2019 school year, at the initiative of the Ministry of Defence, and it is planned to dedicate two hours in the first and two hours in the second semester to that topic.

„Given the fact that due to the Covid-19 pandemic the teaching process is organized based on a different model, classes dedicated to this topic will be organized remotely,“ it was stated in the announcement.

It is planned that class teachers will give lectures to the students, with the professional help of the representatives of the Ministry of Defence and reserve military officers, as well as that 11 topics will be covered within those four classes.
