    The townadministration of Vranje has no information about why the Russian company forthe production of furniture Spilit has left the plants it was leasing in theholding company Yumko, from which they took all the machines in the nightbetween Saturday and Sunday, said Assistant Mayor of Vranje, Nenad Velickovic.Velickovic told the Beta agency that the administration in Vranje was surprisedby the decision of the Russian company and that they had not yet managed tocontact its management, since nobody answered their calls. „We only knowthat in the night between Saturday and Sunday, they took out the machines fromthe factory in Yumko, which they leased two years ago. Nothing previouslyindicated that they would leave the plants and go away, and in earlierdiscussions they even expressed their wish to buy land in the Free Zone, to builda factory there and to expand production,“ Velickovic said. Velickovicalso pointed out that the Russian investor did not come to Vranje through theMinistry of Economy, nor did he ever apply for any subsidies. Chairman of theSupervisory Board of the Holding Company Yumko, Branislav Popovic, has told theBeta agency that for 2 years the company Spilit Vranje has been paying rent forabout 8,000 square meters in Yumko, where it launched its production, and that,to date, no one has initiated a procedure for terminating the lease.
