Those who do not pay contributions will lose the beneficiary status
Amendments of the Law on Pensions and Disability Insurance foresee that citizens who independently include themselves in mandatory insurance, yet fail to pay contributions within six months from the maturity date, will lose the status of beneficiary.
The maturity date is 15th of the month for each previous month of the year, the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund of the Republic of Serbia (PIO) has announced.
Amendments of the law will also determine termination of insurance to beneficiaries who did not pay contributions within six months from the maturity date, before September 30th this year, either because they paid contributions to the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund of the Republic of Serbia on a lower basis than the one determined for that period or were not settling their obligations in due time. Those beneficiaries will not be able to subsequently pay contributions for period that is due six months from the maturity date.
