Toll around Nis DELAYED until further notice

Although three of four toll booths around Nis were supposed to start operating in two days – this will not happen, Putevi Srbije company said. The decision is delayed at the initiative of the inhabitants of Nis until all toll booths have been built, the company said. For the huge crowds in the past few days, citizens „blamed“ the announced start of the operation of new toll booth around Nis and the closed exit at Metejevac roundabout. Only a day was separating the citizens of Nis from the operation of new toll booths, where they were supposed to pay toll instead of using the toll booths Nais and Doljevac, but, according to the announcement by Putevi Srbije, this will not happen. JP Putevi Srbije notifies citizens and businesses that, at the initiative of the citizens of Nis, toll collection in the closed system announced as of 1 December 2019, in the zone of the city of Nis is postponed until further notice, that is, until the completion of the construction of toll booths at highway exits to Nis, the statement says. They did not specify when all the toll gates are supposed to be completed and put into operation. Although toll collection at the new toll booths Nis-North, Nis-East, Nis-Malca and Nis-South was scheduled to begin on 1 November, it was delayed for a month, and now „until further notice.“
