US investment in Sremska Mitrovica

The US company Modine, which manufactures refrigeration and ventilation equipment, has opened a factory in Sremska Mitrovica in which it has invested more than one million euros and which will employ 45 people.

„The opening of the new 3,500-m2 plant is a significant step forward in our business operation. Our goal is to fill the new production capacities with people and train them to master new production processes,“ said Director of Modine Serbia, Dejan Nestorovic. The opening of the factory was attended by Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, who stressed that it was important that young people were employed.

She pointed out that tax incentives for the employment of young people were planned, which would be implemented from next year. She urged US companies to invest in research centers in Serbia, as Serbia was a leader in the region in this area. Modine has 12,000 employees across five continents. The company plans to employ 270 workers in the factory in Sremska Mitrovica in the coming period.
