Vucic: 11,000 people lost their job and 9,000 got it back
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has said that 11,000 workers were dismissed in Serbia in the previous period due to the coronavirus crisis, but that after the announcement of economic measures, 9,000 of them got their jobs back. As he said, the fact that only 2,000 people lost their jobs means that the measures and the announcement itself produced an exceptional result. “I have good news from the economy for all citizens of Serbia. You know, there were 10,839, nearly 11,000 dismissed workers in mid-March. Therefore, by the end of March, 29 March, when we announced measures, in the period between 30 March and 3 April, employment increased by 8,999. Only about 2,000 people lost their jobs in the previous period, which means that our measures and the announcement of the measures have produced a remarkable result,“ said Vucic after a meeting with BiH Presidency Member Milorad Dodik.
