VUCIC: It’s going to be even harder, an immediate salary increase to healthcare workers by 10 percent
It will be harder for us, we will even lose people, but we will manage to fight through, President Aleksandar Vucic has stated tonight in an emergency address to the public, on the occasion of the coronavirus pandemic. Salaries to all healthcare workers will be increased additional 10 percent as of April 1st. We have sufficient funds and equipment, including respirators and masks. All peaceful supplies are in stock, the president has said. The president has announced that Serbia currently has 1,008 respirators at disposal, which, as he has stated, is three times more than in 2009, when 137 people died from swine flu in Serbia according to an official data. He has pointed out that two crisis headquarters would be established as of Friday – one that will deal with the health situation and the other that will deal with managing economic consequences.
