„We are planning a stimulating LOTTERY, we have to PAY in order for people to be inoculated“
The Serbian President, Aleksandar Vucic, stated that the number of citizens who are being inoculated is not sufficient and with the growing number of newly infected, the situation will not be worrying in a week or two, but it will be „in a month and a half“, especially since “ the season of football and basketball games is beginning, and everyone wants full stands“, announcing the introduction of a lottery as a stimulative measure.
„To put it mildly, it is terribly irresponsible of someone not to be inoculated. Not to mention how many Government officials did not do this. This morning, I told a certain minister to get inoculated. The excuses that someone recovered from the coronavirus and should not be inoculated do not mean anything, they are not true,“ said Vucic during a visit to the engineering centre at ZF Serbia plant in Pancevo.
He said that there are „black holes“, i.e., areas where inoculation is low, citing the municipalities of Tutin, Novi Pazar, Ub, Lajkovac and others as examples, adding it is obvious that „there is nothing nationally oriented“ in this.
„Strange people, or we didn’t do a good job. It is more likely that these are good people, but we did not do a good job. I don’t know what else to do, now we will introduce a lottery and set aside money again, basically pay for people to be inoculated,“ Vucic emphasized.
