We are presenting CUSTOMS CHARGES on online shipments

Serbian citizens can import goods worth up to EUR 100 without import duties, the Customs Administration reminds. Citizens should be aware that for shipments which content includes goods purchased online, and which value is greater than EUR 50, they will pay customs fee and VAT, while shipments which value is up to EUR 50 are subject to VAT only, in the amount of 20 percent.

For goods which value does not exceed EUR 3,000, fees in the amount of 10 percent customs duty and 20 percent VAT can be paid based on so called expedited procedure, the Customs Administration reminded.

On the occasion of the upcoming Black Friday, when a large number of Serbian citizens decides to go shopping in neighbouring countries due to major discounts, the Customs Administration states that customs employees are ready to welcome both increased number of shipments and increased traffic at border crossings.

As stated, our citizens usually go on shopping tours to neighbouring countries and then use the advantage of VAT refund in those countries, which makes the price of the products they purchase even more favourable.

„It is completely natural for people to want to take an advantage of great discounts during the so-called Black Friday, which is popular in neighbouring countries, but they just should not forget the current regulations in passenger transport that our service consistently enforces,“ the Head of Customs Branch Office Horgos, Budimir Zagorac says.

Zagorac added that, thanks to the cooperation with the neighbouring administration, following VAT refund, the value of the goods procured by passengers is known to all border administrations. „Thus, space for fraudulent activity and smuggling is minimized,“ Zagorac said.
