    Who earns the most in Serbia?

    The largest number of employees in Serbia earns less than gross amount of RSD 45,000. According to statistics, the highest paid man works in the financial sector, in the region of Belgrade. The average salary in Serbia in January was RSD 54,500, and the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia analysed the differences in incomes, depending on the region or gender.

    The largest percentage of people in Serbia is working for less than gross amount of RSD 45,000. Vesna Pantelic of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia says that net salary or what is presented on the account is less than RSD 35,000, from RSD 32,000 to up to RSD 33,000.

    Around five percent of citizens earn more than RSD 100,000, a third earns between RSD 40,000 and RSD 65,000, and a third earns below RSD 30,000.

    Majority of citizens wants state as an employer, as statistics show that salaries are higher by 20 percent in public when compared to a private sector. The data shows that average salary in public sector is higher by RSD 13,000 when compared to the earnings in the private sector.

    When it comes to the amount of income earned by women and men, in our country men also earn an average of 17 percent more opposed to women, and this is somewhere at the level of European average, Pantelic has stated.
