Youth and women in farm field: Nedimovic has THREE PROJECTS for DFC

The US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) has been proposed three projects that are important for Serbia, and they relate to young farmers, women’s entrepreneurship in agriculture and the food industry.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management has proposed to DFC three projects that are important for Serbia, and which relate to young farmers and their business launch, women’s entrepreneurship in agriculture and the food industry, said Minister of Agriculture Branislav Nedimovic.

The project whose realization with DFC is already in progress is a guarantee scheme for credit support to Serbian farmers, which provides collateral, Nedimovic specified.

„Through this program, with DFC, we guarantee 60 percent of the collateral if someone wants to buy a machine, land, start a business in agriculture, food industry. If something costs a hundred ‘of something’, we guarantee 60 percent that it will be so“, said Nedimovic.

The ministry also applied for non-refundable loans for young farmers of around EUR 15,000.

These grants apply in particular to livestock, fruit and vegetable growing, „as three difficult branches of agriculture, which bind people to the countryside,“ Nedimovic said.

Asked when the planned projects with DFC could start to be realized, Nedimovic answered that „we have to ask the commander of DFC in Serbia“.
