„Youth unemployment in Serbia hits RECORD LOW“
The Prime Minister Ana Brnabic stated that at the end of this year’s second trimester youth unemployment in Serbia was 20.7 percent, which, as she claims, is so far a record low unemployment of that category of population.
„Serbia still has a huge problem with youth unemployment. At the end of the second quarter of this year, youth unemployment reached 20.7 percent, which is a record low unemployment,“ Brnabic said at the promotion of the „My First Salary“ project.
She stated that youth unemployment is continuously declining and specified that at the end of 2018, it amounted to 29.1 percent, at the end of 2019, 25.5 percent, and now it is 20.7 percent.
„Six years ago, youth unemployment in Serbia was 51.1 percent,“ Brnabic reminded and assessed that the current result is good, but that she is not satisfied.
She pointed out that state must engage into even faster policies of employment, training and additional education, stating that the topic of whether it is necessary to make secondary education mandatory has also been opened as well.
