The Zlatibor Gold Gondola, officially the longest panoramic gondola in the world, nine kilometres long, has been ceremoniously put into trial operation today on the Mountain Zlatibor, at the intermediate station near Ribnica Lake. A total of 13 million euros were allocated from the budget of the Municipality of Cajetina for the construction of gondola, and the cornerstone was laid five years ago. The trial work implies the beginning of testing, which, in accordance with the dynamics and procedures, will last for the next month to a month and a half, said Bojana Bozanic, director of the Public Enterprise „Gold Gondola Zlatibor“. Bozanic added that she expects the exact date when the first passengers will be able to ride the longest gondola in the world, which has 36 pillars, three stations and 55 cabins, to be defined by the end of September, and that the entire route and terrain from the main to the intermediate station, where the heart of the technical system is located, further to the top of the Tornik peak, will be arranged with the commencement of regular gondola operation.
