„A new contingent of vaccines has arrived, activity of the virus is declining“

Epidemiologist Predrag Kon stated that the Crisis Staff for Suppression of the Epidemic of the Coronavirus decided at today’s session there would be no further measures, because „the activity of the virus has decreased“ even with the current measures.

Kon stated with Prva TV station that in the next few days, based on the number of new cases of coronavirus infection, it will be familiar whether we are „in stagnation, slight increase or maybe we will maintain a decline following New Year and Christmas holidays, the latter being the best option.

Kon said that another 18,075 Pfizer vaccines arrived in Serbia today, and another half a million Sputnik V vaccines are expected by the end of the month, as well as a million doses of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine against the coronavirus.

According to him, around 11,500 doses of the coronavirus vaccine have been given in Serbia so far, and the pace of immunization will increase with the number of vaccines in the country.
