Annex for utility workers: Salaries higher by 8%, annual leave allowance spikes by RSD 2,800
Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic has signed an Annex to the Special Collective Agreement on Public Utility Companies with the representative trade unions in the industry. It will allow an increase in workers’ salaries by five to eight percent from next year, while annual leave allowance will be increased by about RSD 2,800. “I am proud of cooperation with trade unions in utility companies, which is as good as cooperation in other areas of the sector. More than 70,000 people work in the utility sector, and we have to take care of each of them,” Mihajlovic said after signing the document in the Serbian government. President of the Union of Employees in the Utilities and Housing Industry of Serbia, Milan Grujic, said that that was a small but significant step for the future when it comes to the standard of living of the employees in the utilities sector and efficiency of utility companies. He recalled that the utility system was not planned for salary adjustment.
