Bajatovic: Gas pipeline through Serbia operational in two years
Director-General of the Public Enterprise „Srbijagas“ Dusan Bajatovic has stated that construction of a gas pipeline through Serbia from the border with Bulgaria to the border with Hungary should begin in March, and completion of works is scheduled for December 15th this year.
He has stated for „Pink“ TV station that everything is prepared, but they are waiting for an opinion by the Energy Community (EC) in order to commence work, which should most likely be made at the beginning of February.
Bajatovic has said that initial EUR300 million have been secured and everything is prepared for commencement of works, in order for gas pipeline to be operational as early as January 1st 2020.
„We cannot do anything until we get an opinion from the Energy Community, but in line with that we have counted the mechanization, Serbian companies will do significant part of the work and producers have been contacted as well, so that this option is available should we opt for accelerated delivery,“ Bajatovic has said.
