BIZLife „30 under 30“: Ivan Petrovic, Entrepreneur, „Workpuls“ and „WorkChain“

Ivan was born in 1991, and spent the first part of his life in Kanarevo brdo, where he finished „Ivo Andric“ Elementary School. While still in elementary school, Ivan developed a passion towards computers, which he neglected a bit during high school, in order to devote himself to entertainment and socializing. His first high school year he attended at the grammar school „Milutin Milankovic“, as a scholarship student, after which he transferred to XIV Belgrade Grammar School. During studies he had a couple of „hacking“ adventures, after which he realized that he wants to do something specific. Even though he did not precisely know what kind of product he wanted to make, he knew that the product in question had to have a purpose and had to benefit numerous companies and people. One can say that he has succeeded, since he is the founder of a successful startup „Workpuls“, a platform for monitoring employee work activities, as well as „WorkChain“, behind which is the „Ethereum Blockchain“ platform, via which employees automatically receive salaries instead of using the traditional payment method. Is there anything you had to renounce in order to get to where you are now? I would not say that I had to give up anything entirely, but I certainly had to set priorities in a different way and pay a little more attention to my business in order for it to succeed. Did success reach you, or was it the other way round? Success met me halfway. My perseverance certainly contributed to that, but I cannot say that I was unlucky in business, so in some ways success came to me as well. What is the most important lesson you have learned in your work so far? After a few ideas and time it took to bring my business to the level it is currently on, I definitely learned how to be patient. What is the ultimate goal? I am still unable to determine a concrete ultimate goal. I am taking it one step at a time, reaching some minor goals, until the ultimate goal reveals itself entirely. Favourite school subject?
