BLACK LIST: 400 traders from Facebook and Instagram who deceive customers

The National Consumers’ Organization of Serbia (NOPS) continued with the campaign of listing traders that do not operate in accordance with the Law on Electronic Commerce, and the focus this time was on Facebook and Instagram profiles, and the list contains more than 400 sellers.

Among the traders registered by NOPS, the majority sell shoes, clothes, perfumes, supplements and food supplements. With the expansion of online commerce, the number of sellers who do not work in accordance with the regulations has also increased. Customers who purchase something from such traders do this at their own risk, because they will not be able to protect their rights.

„In the last few years, and especially this year, there has been a significant increase in turnover in the e-commerce sector. The growth of turnover was certainly impacted by the increase in the number of retailers in the internet commerce, however, there was a significant number of such merchants who do not abide by the laws for this type of trade, nor with best practices for trade, even ethical norms,“ NOPS has stated.

The spike in the number of traders who operate illegally has been especially noticeable on social media, the National Consumers’ Organization of Serbia points out.
