Doctors from the Crisis Staff will demand MORE SEVERE measures
Virologist Tanja Jovanovic stated that the medical part of the Crisis Staff of the Serbian government for the fight against the coronavirus epidemic would ask for more severe epidemiological measures at the meeting on Wednesday, due to the increased number of those infected.
According to her, the number of those infected is growing because citizens do not adhere to the measures, and she stated that there is no individual or collective responsibility.
„I claim – if these measures that are currently in force were respected, we would certainly have much better control over the epidemic,“ Jovanovic stated with RTS.
She also said that three „threatening strains of the coronavirus“ have been registered in the world, of which only the British one has been found in Serbia, but the new strains do not cause more severe forms of the disease, but above all enable the virus to be transmitted more easily.
Due to the deteriorated epidemiological situation, epidemiologist Predrag Kon also addressed the media earlier, announcing that the Crisis Staff will consider new measures on Wednesday, but that curfew will not be a topic.
