Fiat NOT STOPPING the production in Serbia
A memo from the Executive Director of FCA, Mike Manley has arrived in all plants of the Fiat Chrysler Automobile Group (FCA), stating that the planned shutdown in Serbia is being postponed. In addition to the deadlock in China, we have previously confirmed the decision to postpone the planned shutdown of production at our facility in Serbia, Manley’s memo stipulates to the word, adding that „it is clear that this situation is not susceptible to changes“. Foreign media have reported that Fiat Chrysler is about to temporarily close all its facilities in Italy. Fiat has stated that, because of the virus, it has increased security measures in its buildings, including the disinfection of all labour and rest facilities, thus supporting guidelines adopted by the Italian authorities to combat the spread of an infection. In accordance with these measures the company will, where necessary, temporarily close certain plants in Italy, the statement says and Reuters reports.
