FIVE TIMES more tourists in Belgrade

Out of a total of 75,864 tourists who visited the capital of Serbia in August, 61,342 were foreigners, and this is almost five times more than in the same period last year, the Tourist Organization of Belgrade has stated.

Also, the number of realized overnight stays in August is significantly higher than last year, and out of a total of 209,750 overnight stays, 173,234 were realized by guests from abroad (more than 85 percent).

In the first eight months of this year, there were approximately one million of overnight stays in the capital.

It was also stated that among guests from abroad who visited Belgrade in August, the most numerous were Indians, Turks, Russians and guests from BiH.

„The total number of tourists in the first eight months is 347,685, and this is 58 percent more than in the same period last year. The number of recorded overnight stays in accommodation capacities on the territory of the city of Belgrade has reached almost one million, and it amounts to a total of 975,428,“ Director of the Tourist Organization of Belgrade Miodrag Popovic said.

He added that the official statistics referred to the period from the beginning of January to the end of August, and he pointed out that Belgrade had by now exceeded one million overnight stays, which would be confirmed by the September data.

Since the beginning of the year, the most numerous tourists in Belgrade were from BiH, Russia, Germany, Montenegro, Turkey, North Macedonia, India, Croatia, the USA and Slovenia.
