Full salary for those infected: „Crown Annex“ for 10 collective agreements

The Minister of Labour, Zoran Djordjevic, stated that, due to the consequences of the coronavirus epidemic, 10 special collective agreements were amended.

These amendments are in accordance with the Conclusion of the Serbian government, which recommends employers to secure the right to salary compensation in the amount of 100 percent for employees who are temporarily absent from work due to confirmed coronavirus or due to isolation or self-isolation imposed in connection with that disease.

„We issued a recommendation that employers allow employees who have children under the age of 12 and suffer from chronic diseases to work from home. Furthermore, we have also enabled employees to be sent on a paid leave for more than 45 working days, with salary compensation, without prior submission of employer’s request for an opinion to the representative trade union, and the Rulebook on Preventive Measures for Safe and Healthy Work, for the purpose of preventing the occurrence and spread of the epidemic of infectious disease, was amended as well,“ said Djordjevic.

He pointed out at the conference of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Serbia (SSSS) „Decent work in the conditions of a pandemic“ that due to the situation caused by the coronavirus, cooperation, understanding, solidarity and joint work are needed more than ever.

In addition, it is „necessary to ensure macroeconomic stability and maintain economic activity in Serbia, in order for the material position of our citizens to be better,“ said Djordjevic and the Ministry announced.
