HORES suggests LONGER WORKING HOURS to reduce infection

The Business Association of Hotel and Restaurant Industry (HORES) has requested of the Crisis Staff of the Serbian government today to extend the working hours for hotel restaurants until 10.30 pm in order to avoid gathering of guests in a private space, since restaurants work until 8 pm and for hotel guests until 9 pm.

„HORES understands the epidemiological situation in which our country finds itself, but we believe that all hotels in urban, mountain and spa tourist destinations respect health measures, from physical distance to implementation of all health and sanitary measures,“ the Association has stated on the occasion of the Crisis Staff announcement on possible shortening of working hours.

It is stated that the biggest problem is non-compliance with measures in private accommodation, as restaurants are open until 8 pm and for hotel guests until 9 pm, thus guests gather at night parties in private accommodation.

The hotel and restaurant industry is making great efforts to maintain hygiene and adhere to health and sanitary measures, HORES has said in a statement.

They emphasize that they advocate the highest possible control of all facilities in the hospitality industry, especially control of private accommodation, as well as consistent implementation of the Law on the Protection of the Population from Infectious Diseases.

That Association has called on inspection authorities, especially the tourist, sanitary and communal inspection, to carry out supervision in full capacity.
