IMPORTS of cars, buses, tractors, etc. is rising

During the second trimester of this year an increase in number of vehicles of all types registered for the first time in Serbia, except for motorcycles, trailers and work vehicles, was recorded, official statistics show. According to the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, when compared to the same period last year, registration of passenger vehicles increased by 4,871, freight vehicles by 935 and mopeds by 180. The largest increase in the number of vehicles registered for the first time was recorded in the category of buses and tractors – by around 40 percent (93 buses and 377 tractors). According to age structure, more than 80 percent of passenger vehicles are over two years old. The „youngest“ vehicles are in the towed category, of which almost 60 percent were manufactured in 2018 or 2019. The most dominant brands among producers of motor vehicles are Volkswagen, Opel, Fiat, Peugeot and Renault. Based on the results, it is possible to conclude that the freight vehicles with payload between 1,500 and 4,999 kilograms are the purchased the most, and the largest number of these vehicles uses diesel as engine fuel, the statement said. As for passenger cars produced in the last couple of years, in terms of motor fuel, gasoline is used the most percentage-wise, while motor vehicles of up to 2,000 cubic centimetres dominate on our roads.
