In June, 39,000 Serbian citizens registered as UNEMPLOYED
In June, 38,640 citizens registered with the National Employment Service (NES) of Serbia, which is 40 percent more than in May, Sarita Bradas, an associate of the Center for Democracy Foundation, has told the Beta agency. “In May this year, 26,453 people applied for a job, and in June 2019, 27,403 people, which means that unemployment is growing rapidly,” Bradas said. She added that out of the total number of applicants for registration in June, 25,368 people applied for a job for the first time, and 13,272 of them had already been working somewhere. Bradas said that there would be “hot autumn” because an increasing number of people would lose their jobs due to the crisis in the economy caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
