Kisic Tepavcevic does not count waves: This is the second PEAK of the first wave
Deputy Director of the Public Health Institute Dr Milan Jovanovic Batut, Darija Kisic Tepavcevic, has stated that the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic is not taking place in Serbia, because this is the „second peak“ of the first wave. In the last 24 hours, the samples of 7,784 people were tested for the coronavirus in Serbia, 143 of which were positive, it was published on the website of the Ministry of Health of Serbia. Kisic Tepavcevic has told B92 TV that the first wave had a downward trajectory, and that it is now climbing again, adding that she hopes that it will not reach the first „peak“. „Waves should not be counted and expected, the virus is here. Everyone should do everything to prevent further spread,“ she pointed out. Kisic Tepavcevic emphasized that the infected „reservoirs“ were moving, and that it was necessary for the citizens to do everything in order not to become infected. Kisic Tepavcevic pointed out that any gathering of a larger number of people where contact was possible was risky. She stated that to date, the infection had been registered in 91 students and that intensive efforts were being made to isolate them. She reiterated that younger patients made the majority of the newly infected.
