Procurement of medical equipment is STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL?

The Health Insurance Fund of the Republic of Serbia (RFZO) has refused to provide Radio Free Europe with information on medical equipment procured during the state of emergency due to the coronavirus epidemic, explaining that it is „strictly confidential“, reports RFE. „Data on medical devices procured in Serbia during the state of emergency, as well as documentation on that, are marked with the degree of secrecy ‘strictly confidential’, in accordance with the conclusion of the Government of Serbia of March 15, 2020,“ the RFZO replied. The conclusion referred to by the RFZO is not available to the public, so its content is unknown. The response of the RFZO was issued after a request was sent for access to the information of public importance in early April, and the requested data included information on the equipment and medicines procured based on the regulation of the Government of Serbia on special technical requirements, standards and application of medical devices during the state of emergency.
