PROTEST against air pollution announced, these are REQUESTS

Environmental associations and groups of citizens Eko straza, Stop kafileriji and Eko straza Sabac have announced that they will organize a „Protest for Safe Air“ due to heavy pollution in Serbia on Sunday, January 10, at noon at Slavija Square in Belgrade.

„We are exposed to huge long-term impact of polluted air, all of us who live here, a little less than seven million of us. We all breathe the same air and no one is exempt from the problem. The Government of Serbia, the Ombudsman and the decision-makers violate the Constitution, specifically Article 74, which explicitly states that we all have the right to a healthy environment and to timely and complete notification about its condition. According to the Constitution of Serbia, the Government and its institutions are obliged to provide that for us. Since their legal obligation is not being fulfilled, it is our moral obligation to ask them, in the form of a protest, to immediately take on the obligation to protect the health of citizens,“ it is posted on the Facebook page of the non-political and informal group of citizens Eko straza.

The post also says that a general war is underway against the nature and health of citizens, and that it is important that we protect ourselves.

They point out that not a single party or organization is behind the protest, but only the citizens of Serbia.

Protests are also held in the name of Novi Sad, Nis, Bor, Valjevo, Uzice, Kragujevac, Kraljevo, Novi Pazar, Zrenjanin, Subotica, Smederevo… and all the other cities, as well as small towns.
