Simple and secure: NBS has introduced a new PAYMENT method on the Internet

As of today, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) has enabled a new payment method – instant payments (IPS scan) at online points of sale, which offers faster, easier and safer online shopping. It is emphasized that payment is very fast and simple, because it does not require retyping data as with payment by credit card. This payment method is also safer than payment by credit cards because, as explained, during instant payment the buyer does not enter any data related to his payment instrument on merchant’s website, unlike payment by credit cards when, in order to make payment, one must enter the card number and other necessary data. Therefore, the risk of misuse of a payment instrument in instant payments is significantly reduced.
