There is NO MORE COMPROMISE for Kon: Same measures as on weekends for 14 days

Epidemiologist Predrag Kon says that the only measures that can break the chain of virus transmission are the measures that were valid during the weekend, meaning that only food stores, pharmacies and gas stations are open.

After the meeting of doctors with Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, Kon said that the most important thing to say was that the medical members of the Crisis Staff simply could not deviate from their position – that the chain of virus transmission must be broken.

„The only measures that can provide such results are the measures we had over the weekend, which means that only food stores, pharmacies and gas stations are opened and allowed to operate. „Everything else should be closed,“ Kon told RTS TV.

According to the views of some medical members of the Crisis Staff, as he stated, the period of a minimum of 14 days is necessary to ensure that such virus activity is restricted during the halt in transmission chain.

„There is no doubt that the numbers will continue to grow, the pressure on hospitals is increasing and we must stop it as soon as possible. The only efficiency is provided by sudden, perhaps seemingly drastic measures,“ emphasizes Kon.
