This year, women will not be able to retire even at the age of 63

As of today, women in Serbia will be able to retire at the age of 63 and two months and at least 15 years of paid insurance.

This year, the retirement age for women is prolonged by two months, while the same conditions apply to men as last year – 65 years of age and at least 15 years of paid insurance.

For an old-age pension, insured persons of both genders exercise this right starting from 45 years of insurance, regardless of age.

As of today, the conditions for exercising the right to early old-age pension also changed, so men need 40 years of paid insurance and 59 years of age, while women need at least 39 years and four months of paid insurance and 58 years and four months of age.

In that case, the pension is permanently reduced by 0.34 percent for each month before the age prescribed for exercising the right to an old-age pension in that calendar year, and the total amount of reduction for early old-age pension can reach a maximum of 20.4 percent.

From this year, the monthly income of all pensioners in Serbia will be increased by 5.9 percent, in line with the growth of the gross domestic product (GDP) and inflation, so the average pension will amount to around RSD 29,400.
