„Time has come for PANCEVO BRIDGE to be taken down“

The time has come for the Pancevo bridge to be demolished and a new one to be built, because this one is very old, the acting director of the Roads of Serbia (Putevi Srbije) public enterprise, Zoran Drobnjak said.

As he said, the city, the railway and Mostogradnja as a company should all be a part of this project, Leva obala Dunava reports.

„When there are alternatives to other bridges, it should be taken down, and if there is money, the plan is to do this in the next three to four years“, Drobnjak said.

Drobnjak mentioned that more skilled labour is needed, such as construction machine operators and craft workers, for the construction of road infrastructure and bridges, and this is a well-paid job.

He said that major problems are present on the bypasses that are built around Belgrade, stating that for a tunnel that is built in the direction to Pancevo, there are difficulties with regulating traffic during construction, and in the part from Bubanj Potok to the “1,000 ruza“ motel, Water supply and sewerage PE should design a project for the sewerage network. Citizens who have been using it for years are asking for its renovation to be included on the list of priorities, because they believe that it is in a very bad shape and that some parts of it are even unsafe. The city and the state responded that the Pancevo bridge was included in the plan for detailed renovations, but not before the bridge on Ada Huja is built.
