Two more facilities remain to be DEMOLISHED at Belgrade Waterfront

Only two more facilities, not yet demolished, remain on the area covered by the Belgrade Waterfront, in the vicinity of the new Nikolai Kravtsov Street and land of the former Railway Station. One of them is a ground barrack and the other is a three-storey brick building that belonged to the Serbian Railways. It was once used by railway workers as doss house, hence the name „Konaciste zeleznicar“. Commencement of the demolition of this building is planned soon, it spreading across more than 1,500 square metres, and rumours say this could happen at the end of next week. Serbian Railways Infrastructure also confirmed that demolition of the building is planned. The „Konaciste“ building is to be demolished and is covered by the tender for demolition of buildings within the old Belgrade Railway Station. An agreement with the contractor was concluded after the completion of public tender. The agreed deadline for completion of works is January 19th, 2020, but it is expected that the job on demolition of buildings within the old Railway Station Beograd is finished by the end of 2019, Serbian Railway replied. Once these buildings at Savska Street are demolished, the area that now encompasses the Belgrade Waterfront, along this road and all the way to warehouse and building of the Post Office, will be completely cleared.
