    Wages for the year increased by 6%, but 50% of WORKERS is still below RSD 50,000

    The average gross salary in Serbia in April amounted to RSD 89,582, while the average salary without taxes and contributions (net salary) was RSD 64,948, the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia has announced today.

    The growth of gross salaries in the period January-April this year, compared to the same period last year, amounted to 7.8 percent in nominal terms, i.e., six percent in real terms, while at the same time, net salaries increased by eight percent in nominal and by 6.2 percent in real terms.

    Compared to the same month last year, the average gross salary in April this year was nominally higher by 9.9 percent, and by 6.9 percent in real terms, while the average net salary was nominally higher by 10.2 percent or by 7,2 percent in real terms respectively.

    The median net salary for April this year amounted to RSD 49,230, which means that 50 percent of employees earned up to that amount, the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia has announced.
