We are doing well: Montenegro might CANCEL the TEST for Serbian citizens

The Director of the Montenegrin Institute of Public Health, Boban Mugosa, stated that the epidemiological situation in Montenegro is stable and that they are paying special attention to prevention of infection spread among tourists. He announced the abolition of tests at the border crossings to Montenegro, if the health situation in Serbia continues to improve. Mugosa stated with N1 that the situation in Montenegro is stable. „We know that there is a relatively high transmission of virus in the entire region and any irresponsible behaviour can make the situation worse. We do not want to worsen the situation in our country, nor do we want guests to become infected. We are balancing the arrival and number of guests. Serbia is our closest neighbour and a large influx of guests is estimated. That would be a big burden on the system, and we have to be responsible,“ Mugosa said. „In order to reduce the possibility of virus spread, we have introduced measures for tests. But if the situation goes well in Serbia as well, then we will go with further measures of relaxation. I hope that, if the situation develops well, we will be able to further relax communication between countries,“ Mugosa added. He emphasized that due to the epidemiological situation in the region, the expected outbreak of the infection occurred, with several hotspots, which were difficult to control.
